Human progress is our cause, liberty of thought our
supreme wish, freedom of conscience our mission, and the
guarantee of equal rights to all people everywhere our
ultimate goal. -- The Scottish Rite Creed
Distinguished Service "Double Eagle" Award
The DSA award has been given to brothers who have given much time and
effort to the Western Montana Valley Scottish Rite over the years.
All who have worked diligently for our valley can not receive a red hat because
we are ordinarily limited to about 2 recipients each 2 years.
No doubt there are others who deserve recognition but the decision by the
executive committee is to award a limited number of DSA recipients in order
to keep it very meaningful. Over the past few years only 6 have been so
designated.

THE KNIGHTS COMMANDER OF THE
COURT OF HONOR (KCCH)
At its biennial session, certain 32° Masons who have attained the age of 35 years, have
been 32° Masons at least four years and who have rendered signal service to the Rite, are
chosen to receive the Rank and Decoration of Knights Commander of the Court of Honor.
The decoration is conferred in a very impressive ceremony of investiture in the local Bodies.
This is the rank and decoration, not a degree. The members who hold it are designated
32° KCCH for at least four years before he can be nominated to receive the 33°.

The 33° Scottish Rite Masons
Inspectors General Honorary
The Thirty-Third Degree is conferred by the Supreme Council upon members of the Rite
in recognition of outstanding service to the Rite, or in public life, to the principles taught
in the Degree. The 33° cannot be asked for and if asked for must be refused.
At its biennial session, the Supreme Council elects members of the Rite to receive the
Degree. These 33° Masons, distinguished in the Rite by their White caps, are Inspectors
General Honorary and honorary members of the Supreme Council. The active members
of the Supreme Council are chosen from among them.
